1. Who we are

Boovaraghavan & Co., Cost Accountants (FRN 007425) is a practising Cost Accountant firm located at No. 13, Thiruvalluvar Street, Thiruparkadal, Kaveripakkam, Ranipet District, Tamil Nadu – 632 508, India. For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the firm is the Data Fiduciary for personal data collected through this website and through enquiries made to us.

2. Scope of this policy

This policy covers personal data shared with us through this website, email, phone and WhatsApp before an engagement begins. Information shared by clients during an engagement is governed by the engagement letter and by the professional confidentiality obligations that apply to us under the Cost Accountants Act, 1959 and the requirements of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India.

3. Information we collect

When you contact us, you may share your name, business or organisation name, email address, phone number, area of requirement and a description of your requirement. We do not ask for financial records, identity documents or other confidential information through this website, and we request that you do not send them.

4. Why we use it

We use this information only to respond to your enquiry, discuss your requirement and, if you engage us, to begin the engagement. We process it on the basis of the consent you give when you contact us. We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.

5. How the enquiry form works

The enquiry form prepares an email in your own email application. Your enquiry reaches us only when you send that email.

6. Where your information is kept

Enquiries and related communication are held in our email account (Gmail), on WhatsApp, in Google Drive and on the firm's computer. These service providers act as data processors and may store data on servers located outside India. Any such transfer is subject to the provisions of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

7. Who we share it with

We share your information only with persons working on your matter within the firm, with service providers that host this website or our email and storage, and with government, regulatory or professional bodies where disclosure is required by law.

8. How long we keep it

If an enquiry does not lead to an engagement, we delete it within 12 months. Where you become a client, records are kept for the periods required by applicable laws and professional standards.

9. How we protect it

We take reasonable security measures to protect your information, including access controls on our accounts and devices. In the event of a personal data breach, we will inform affected persons and the Data Protection Board of India as required by law.

10. Cookies

This website does not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.

11. Children

This website is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data of anyone under 18 without verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian.

12. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may:

  • request a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is used
  • ask us to correct, complete or update it
  • ask us to erase it where it is no longer needed
  • withdraw your consent at any time
  • nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity
  • raise a grievance with us

We will acknowledge your request within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If your grievance is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it was last updated.

This policy has been prepared with reference to the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
